I have had the opportunity to mentor and coach several young men over the last few years. One of the most common setbacks I run into is the belief that their past mistakes somehow disqualify them from moving forward in their lives. There is some element of shame or guilt that keeps nagging at them.
They view their failures as final.
This couldn’t be further from the truth.
Scars are sacred, and failure is fuel.
The very things that we deem as setbacks, if reframed, can become the very push we need to become the person we know we want to be. Owning the failure, not running, is a massive advantage if seen as one. It is a reminder of a version of yourself that you do not want to be.
Own it. Use it. Embrace it.
Leading with a limp is about owning your scars and using them as your secret weapon to become the version of yourself you know you can be.
Have you ever had a failure that you reframed from a setback to a step forward?
